About Us

EarthJunk started in Denver, Colorado as "Artifacts, Antiques, Art, Collectibles and Junk from Planet Earth" A short memorable name was needed- EARTHJUNK. The owners of Earthjunk, John & Cindee Haddix respect the superior craftsmanship found in older items. John & Cindee were raised to value hard work & to appreciate well made beautiful items. Both were born to renovate & collect. Half a century later, Earthjunk had outgrown all 4 existing buildings.

On August 12th of 2009 EarthJunk was blessed to find a progressive mentality in Sargent, Nebraska. The city of Sargent wanted Earthjunk to be part of their business community. Sargent has worked together with John & Cindee to achieve mutual growth. John and Cindee have purchased 8 buildings in Sargent. All buildings in Burwell are For Sale. EarthJunk maintains one permanent warehouse in Denver, Colorado and offers free delivery to their Denver location. Email for specific details.

EarthJunk's Manor House

Sargent Nursing Home The Sargent nursing home has become "Manor House". Renovation began in March of 2010 immediately after purchase. 2010 ended with 26 Customer Galleries completed. Each Gallery features a separate Ethan Allen or Tell City collection. The Galleries are designed to give customers an idea how that particular collection would look in a real home. Solid wood furniture with a glowing patina, the finest fabrics and custom wallpaper create interior visions that will carry you away.

John & Cindee daily use and live with Ethan Allen at both work and home. They know the value of furniture that lasts and has thoughtful practical design. Ethan Allen & Tell City Chair Company are in 8 additional personal Galleries on the south end of Manor House. The remaining 26 Galleries are for the furniture collectors that drive to Sargent, Nebraska to personally inspect and pick up their purchase.

Manor House features a huge parking lot surrounded with old growth trees! There is a large shaded fenced area for furry friends that travel along to buy furniture. Earthjunk is proud to offer all visitors the opportunity to have their picture taken in the Foyer with the life size Ethan Allen statue. Your photo will be emailed. Earthjunk wants to provide you with happy memories of Sargent, Nebraska.

4 additional Customer Galleries need to be completed in this building. Manor House is open by Appointment Only.

EarthJunk at the Sargent District Hospital

Sargent District Hospital Once the pride of the town, the vacant Sargent District Hospital is under renovation. The entire hospital will be a tribute to the high quality of style and workmanship associated with Ethan Allen & Tell City and other quality American Furniture Makers.

Instead of Ambulances pulling in the Emergency Entrance, truckers pull in to take online purchases to their new home. Deliveries consist of furniture instead of babies. Pride Packing has moved packing operations to the Surgery/Delivery/Emergency Room Wing.

Pride Packing provides top notch workmanship and old fashioned attention to detail. We send out packages like we wish ours would be prepared. We have purchased furniture online for our personal collection since 1998. Pride Packing's workmanship surpasses any shipped furniture we have ever received. Every time we were disappointed in the packaging, Pride Packing perfected & invented another strategy to provide our customers with premium packaging. If you upgrade to the PROTECT IT foam wall option your furniture will be provided with the ultimate situation in which to travel across the United States.

EarthJunk at the Historic Abbott Building

Abbott Building Exactly 100 years after the Abbott Brothers proudly opened for business at 417 Main Street, the empty historic landmark was purchased. John and Cindee are moving their former antique store, the Burwell Butter Factory into this building. The Abbott building presents an authentic setting for their massive collection of golden oak cabinetry. 419 and 421 Main Street have been purchased to hold the rest of the inventory. The three buildings will offer a wide selection of treasures to complement any Ethan Allen Collection. To ensure your home is as unique as you are, there is a plethora of beautiful items, new and old!

Unfortunately, the plethora of items are still packed. The Abbott Emporium is slated for opening in 2011. With 3 buildings under renovation, John & Cindee are swamped with the enormity of the move. EarthJunk is grateful for employee's efforts & the support of friends & family.
